ADA VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT

The Ada Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1884. We currently have 22 members. Our district is roughly 18 miles long and 15 miles wide covering 212 square miles. We provide service to the city of Ada and 9 townships. We have mutual aid agreements with all other departments in Norman county as well as several neighboring counties.

Some of the services we provide are fire suppression, rescue, vehicle extrication, fire prevention and youth education classes, flood monitoring as well assisting the City of Ada and their public works department where needed. We have an automatic aide agreement with Borup, MN. We respond to an average of 40-45 calls a year. Recently we built on to our existing facility, expanding our apparatus bays training facilities and office space in an ongoing effort to better serve the community.
